Individual Counselling Session Fees
Online Session Fee – $175 hr
Phone Session Fee – $165 hr

Fees for Counselling are only covered by OHIP if the service is provided within a medical setting. Or by a Registered Social Worker or other Regulated Health Professional permitted to practice Psychotherapy within a Family Health Team, or as part of an “out patient” counselling program at a hospital or other medical clinic.

Ask your Family Doctor about these options as you will probably need a referral and there may be a wait list. I recommend getting a referral and getting on the wait lists so that when you are offered service, you can decide then if you want it or not.

At Oakridge Counselling Session Fees are payable by e-transfer no later than 24 hours before your session. You will get a receipts by email once your session begins.

Benefit Coverage For Counselling Fees

At Oakridge Counselling all sessions are provided by Registered Social Workers, RSW or Registered Psychotherapists RP. Counselling is often covered by therapists with these designations.

To find out, please check with your benefit provider before your session. In addition, you might want to ask how you get reimbursed after you have paid the session fees. Most plans allow you to submit online and you usually get reimbursed within a couple of days.

Registered Social Workers are members of the The Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers. Registered Psychotherapists belong to the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

These Regulatory Bodies exists to monitor and regulate the controlled act of “Social Work” and/or “Psychotherapy” in Ontario.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session you need to provide at least 24 hours notice. There are exceptions to this policy that your therapist will explain to you in your first session. When 24 hours notice is not given, you may be charged the full session fee.

If you do not show up for your scheduled session, this is considered a “no show”and you will be charged the full session fee to the credit card on your file.

Please Note: You will be given a receipt for this payment. However the receipt if for a “late cancellation fee” and is not usually reimbursed by benefit coverage.
