Fees for Counselling Sessions
Range from $140 to $160 CAD
per one hour session
Fees for Counselling are only covered by OHIP
if you are getting counselling with a Social Worker within a Family Health Team,
or as part of an “out patient” counselling program at a hospital.
Ask your Family Doctor about these options.
You will probably need a referral from the doctor and there is usually a wait list.
However, I recommend getting a referral and getting on the wait lists.
When you are offered service, you can decide then if you still want to attend.
At Oakridge Counselling Session Fees are payable by e-transfer
and are DUE THE DAY BEFORE THE SESSION.
Receipts are emailed once the session begins
Benefit Coverage For Counselling
You may have benefit coverage to pay the fees for your counselling sessions.
Counselling here is provided by
Registered Social Workers, “RSW’s”
or Registered Psychotherapists, “RP’s”
To find out, please ask your benefit provider, your employer or your human resources department if you have coverage for “counselling session fees” with an RSW or RP You might also want to ask how you get reimbursed for fees paid.
Some plans allow you to submit online.
Registered Social Workers belong to the The Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers. Registered Psychotherapists belong to the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
These Regulatory Bodies exists to monitor and regulate the controlled act of “Social Work” and/or “Psychotherapy” in Ontario.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session you must give
at least 24 hours notice. If you do not provide 24 hours notice,
you may be charged the full session fee.
If you do not show up for your scheduled session, this is considered a “no show”
and you will be charged the full session fee to the credit card on your file.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
We will get back to you within 48 hours
