Elizabeth A. Lacey MSW RSW is a Registered Social Worker and the Founder of Oakridge Counselling (2004). Elizabeth has a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Bachelors Degree in Social Work (BSW) from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree with a Major in Social Development Studies.
Elizabeth received the Sheldon Rahn award of ethics and was the Valedictorian in her BSW year. She is a member of the Ontario and Canadian Associations of Social Work (OASW & CASW), and is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
Elizabeth has studied extensively in the fields of Marriage & Family Therapy, Affairs, Adult Attachment, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Mind-Body Therapies. She is particularly interested in relationship matters and helping individuals and couples develop and maintain the secure connection, intimacy and relationship they desire.
Elizabeth has been in Private Practice at Oakridge Counselling since late 2004. She is delighted to have worked with hundreds of couples over the years.
Elizabeth completed training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy with Dr. Susan Johnson and the “Internship in Marriage & Family Therapy” at Family Service Thames Valley.
Elizabeth worked as a Child Protection Worker at the Children’s Aid Society of London and Middlesex and at Family and Children’s Services in Kitchener. While at CAS in London she worked in the Sexual Abuse Treatment Program with offenders, partners of offenders and child victims of sexual abuse.
