Elizabeth Lacey is a “Registered Social Worker”, “Psychotherapist” and the Owner of Oakridge Counselling (2004). She has a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, a Bachelors Degree in Social Work (BSW) the University of Waterloo’s Renison College and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree also from the University of Waterloo with a Major in Social Development Studies.

Elizabeth received the Sheldon Rahn award of ethics from Renison College (University of Waterloo) and was the Valedictorian in her BSW year. She is a member of the Ontario and Canadian Associations of Social Work (OASW & CASW), and is a “Registered Social Worker”  (RSW) in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

Until very recently Elizabeth specialized in relationship counselling with couples. While she is no longer working with couples, she continues to offer relationship counselling to individuals who wish to improve their relationships.

Elizabeth practices from a “couple sensitive” perspective drawing on her experiences over the past 15 years as a couples counsellor. While the focus is not exclusively on the couple relationship, that relationship does benefit from this type of work, especially if the partner is doing similar work.

Elizabeth also offers individual counselling for adult men and women for various topics including but not limited to, relationship with self and/or other, stress management, emotion awareness, expression and regulation, anxiety, depression, parenting, coparenting and blended(ing) family issues and career questions.

It addition to the counselling Elizabeth provides at Oakridge Counselling, she has worked as a Child Protection Worker at the Children’s Aid Society of London and Middlesex and at Family and Children’s Services in Kitchener. While at CAS in London Elizabeth worked in the Sexual Abuse Treatment Program with offenders, partners of offenders and child victims of sexual abuse.
